Millthrop Cottage

Local Attractions

With the Yorkshire Dales right on your doorstep there are any number of walks and climbs in the local area. A range of maps and guidebooks can be purchased from the Sedbergh Tourist Information Office in the Dales and Lakes Book Centre, including the Harvey map "Yorkshire Dales - Sedbergh Walks" which describes 8 walks centred on Sedbergh. You can also try Sedbergh Gateway website for further information.

The cottage is an ideal place to explore the Howgill Fells. The fells are a compact cluster of hills rising to about 2,000 feet between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales and they offer excellent long distance views to the Lake District, the Pennines and Morecambe Bay.

The cottage is also only ten miles from Kendal and the Lake District so there is plenty to explore.

From the visitors book:
Had a wonderful relaxing time in the cottage which has been well designed. It is located withing easy reach of Kendal & Kirby Losdale which are well worth a visit. The cottage is located in a beautiful area of cumbria. We also found neighbours to be firendly & helpful. Certianly well worth another visit to explore other far reaching parts of the Lake District.
